Vintage WWII Colvinex Heated Flight Jacket (Converted)

U.S. Army Air Forces | c. Early 1940s

Original World War II–era Colvinex heated flight garment, later converted into a wearable leather jacket. Colvinex specialized in electrically heated aviation clothing for high-altitude aircrew, producing garments designed to integrate with aircraft power systems during WWII. Mainly used in B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-24 Liberator.

This piece retains its original heavy leather construction and shearling collar, with post-war modifications including knit cuffs and waistband to improve everyday wearability. Signs of the original heating system remain, offering a rare look into specialized aviation equipment from the period.
