Vintage 1930s Dublin High School Athletic Sweatshirt — Virginia

Early athletic sweatshirt attributed to Dublin High School, Virginia, dating to the early–mid 1930s. Constructed from a lightweight rayon or rayon-blend knit typical of pre-war athletic wear, predating the heavier cotton fleece sweatshirts that followed later in the decade.

Features a large canvas twill block “D” applied to the chest and a chainstitched name sewn into the hem—an era-correct personalization detail common in early school athletics. Ribbed cuffs and hem show heavy wear and repairs consistent with age and use.

An exceptionally early example of American high school athletic clothing with strong regional provenance.
